Monday, March 21, was the day we have been anticipating for two long years of restrictions, emergency orders and suffering for many individuals. With a slight change from public health now requiring students in schools to wear masks until April 15th, all restrictions were lifted at midnight on March 21st and people began to make choices in their personal and business lives about what to do moving forward.
The Nova Scotia provincial state of emergency has been lifted and for the restaurant industry, guests no longer need to show their vaccination status, wear face masks or social distance.
Although restrictions are lifting, Steak and Stein will continue to be cautious and will still maintain some of the tools that have kept us safe. This includes employees, both current and new hires, vaccinated, extending mask wearing until April 21, washing our hands regularly, minimizing physical contact and maximizing distance whenever possible. This is solely our choice as a business to help protect our employees and guests.
We may be done with Covid…but Covid is not done with us! “Living with COVID doesn’t mean ignoring COVID.” We are committed in following the guidelines we have learned over the last two years that have kept us safe in order to minimize spread and limit the possibility of illness from Covid 19.
We welcome this phase of returning to a new-normal society and invite all of our guests back to enjoy their favourite meals provided by our friendly service staff in a safe and spacious environment. Please note our restaurants will continue with take-out and pickup orders and utilize third-party delivery services through our own delivery app, HaliHUB or Uber Eats and Skip the Dishes.
